Seven years ago today, there was an airline disaster of epic and mysterious proportions. Oceanic Flight 815 vanished somewhere over the South Pacific, seemingly with all its passengers. It would be several years until we learned of the six survivors that would come to be known as “The Oceanic Six.”

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it many times again: the Internet is full of people with way too much free time on their hands. As today’s piece of evidence, I submit the following video, irrefutable proof that at least one gentleman out there has leisure time to burn. Matt Mulholland, musical comedian and YouTube contributor, took it upon himself to record a one-man a capella soundtrack to one of the most iconic scenes in “Back to the Future,” a childhood favorite of mine, and my God, does he pull it off spectacularly! Alan Silvestri’s epic score is one of the more hummable cinematic accompaniments ever written, and Mr. Mulholland takes that childhood urge that makes us want to sing along and turns it up to 11. I hope you all read that in a William Shatner voice. Anyway, I’m kind of hoping that this was tongue-in-cheek, cause Shatner kind of makes himself look like a jerk. But I found a video on Boing Boing of William Shatner defending Star Trek in the age old Star Trek vs. Star Wars battle by claiming Star Wars is derivative…and then he sort of rambles.
