In the Dragon Empire, brave adventurers pledge themselves to the service of the mighty Icons who vie for power over the realm. When two such adventurers, a drow paladin of the Great Gold Wyrm and a halfling sorcerer whose Icon relationships are questionable at best, are sent on a dubious mission on the Midland Sea, they get more than they bargained for. The notorious Stone Thief, the world’s oldest and most feared living dungeon, suddenly surfaces, vomiting forth consumed structures and patchwork horrors. After one of its earthquake-like convulsions, the pair find themselves and their crew stranded on a tiny island now swarming with monsters from the Stone Thief’s chilling depths. Can a good-hearted drow and a completely insane halfling keep their crew alive long enough to escape the island? And who thought it was a good idea to trust the rogue that one of them met in jail?

Phantom Fist’s past comes back to haunt him in a big way in this week’s session of Alex’s Apex City Bulbous Quarry campaign! First, we revisit Blake O’Henry’s big score one last time to learn the fates of his former teammates. Twenty years ago, Blake survived the slaughter at Groutweasel Tower and fled the supervillain game, but not all of his team members were quite as lucky. In the present day, Ana Telonis, better known as Battery Acid, has escaped from a maximum-security prison, and Blake figures she’s out for revenge.  The Phantom Fist needs protection and the team needs a demonic totem to complete their Porter-tracking device, so taking down a vengeful Hellbinder seems like killing two birds with one death trap. However, when Blake’s feelings for Ana flare up just before their confrontation, it could spoil all the group’s carefully laid plans.

Packed to bursting with quirky living objects, Mrs. Ketcham’s attic has always been a special place, but is it a fantastical wonderland of enchantment and whimsy, or an eldritch prison for those unfortunate enough to meddle with ancient cosmic forces? Two hapless Cthulhu Mythos investigators find themselves transformed into toys after a confrontation with cultists, but that may be the least of their worries. One finds acceptance in the attic as a hero of the Red Team on the Foosball table, while the other skirts the edges of madness as he adjusts to his new life as the littlest Matryoshka doll. When Old Mrs. Ketcham unexpectedly dies and her relatives put the house up for sale, the denizens of the attic worry that they will surely be junked. Their only hope is to retrieve a copy of The Necronomicon from a neighbor’s private collection and use the lunatic ravings of Abdul Alhazred to restore the two toys to their former human forms. Aided by the largest Matryoshka doll, they set out to make the perilous journey, but the forces of madness conspire against them. A rival from the Yellow Team vows to get to the book first, invoking the fearsome power of his unspeakable King to do so. Can they defeat the agent of evil, break the curse that stripped them of their humanity, and rescue the rest of Mrs. Ketcham’s living sundries from the scrap heap? Listen to find out!

The Apex City Bulbous Quarry villains are only two items away from building the Devilish Device that will allow them to track down Porter, the fiend who possessed their comrade, destroyed their lives, and landed them in exile. To complete the machine, they’ll need to find an angel’s feather and the totem of a demon, both of which they will have to physically remove from living hosts. Hoping to harvest a demonic totem, the group gets in touch with the League of Supervillains to see if there are any Hellbinders out there who the organization has marked for death, and they are assigned to eliminate a newbie ne’er-do-well named Velociraptor Jones.
