The former Sentinels of the Stray Thoughts campaign are back! Now that the truth of Proxy Steel’s plan has been revealed, the group rushes toward Earth to have the parasitic personality excised from their brains. Doc Skeelaxx, an associate of Elis’ who will be performing the psychosurgery, decides to send them on a mission to retrieve Lucas from his self-imposed exile in simulspace in order to keep them distracted while he fiddles with their mind-states. Now, the group must face a never-ending recreation of The Fall in order to help Lucas escape, all the while knowing that their very souls are under the knife. In addition, Bull, whose connection with the humanity she abandoned seems to be growing stronger, has instructed the doctor to re-install her capacity to feel emotions. Will Tiffany’s feelings reassert themselves at a terribly inconvenient time? Find out this week, on Stray Thoughts!

In a bleak future ruled by corporatized state governments, our team of independent fixers makes their move on PentaTech’s research campus on the upper level of Free Kansas City. Their mysterious employer, Mr. Knight, has tasked them with retrieving a top-secret R&D server codenamed “BASSINET” without being detected, but breaking in isn’t going to be nearly as easy as they thought. When things start to go wrong and security comes pouring in, they’ll have to abandon their quiet plan and make do with the loud one. The entity living on the BASSINET server proves to be quite valuable, however, and there may be others who would pay handsomely for her safe release from captivity.

Four skeletons stand guard with undying vigilance over the tomb of their fallen monarch. Perhaps they served their king well in life, or perhaps this is a punishment; either way, they are doomed to keep watch until they turn to dust. When humans poke their fleshy noses into the king’s crypt, the magics that give these skeletal sentries some semblance of life compel them to give chase, and perhaps even to kill. As the years pass, as more intruders disturb the grave under their protection, the skeletons remember pieces of their former lives, reclaiming a fraction of who they once were. They also succumb to the ravages of time, losing what remains of their will, their bodies and their dignity. How long can a skeleton’s endless vigil possibly last?

In a cyberpunk future where many state governments have privatized, a group of independent contractors eke out a living on the Missouri side of Kansas City. Rook is an expert driver, a wheelman who need not be behind the wheel because his car’s controls are wired directly into his brain. Smoke is a professional infiltrator and part-time hacker, the kind of guy who knows his way around corporate blacksites in the real world and The Matrix. Chuckles is a veteran killer in the Missouri Militia who served in the border war with KansasCorp, and has had his memories of service removed to dampen his post-traumatic stress disorder. Finally, Mack is a private soldier-for-hire who knows how to take the lead in tough situations. When a contact named Mr. Knight hires them to break into the research campus of PentaTech in order to retrieve an experimental server, they take the job, but is the team biting off more than they can chew? Listen to find out!

At long last, the Stray Thoughts team has secured an invitation to Elis’ party, where they can confront the former Proxy Mute and learn the reasons behind her takedown of Firewall. It seems that Proxy Steel has been withholding information from the group about the true nature of their mission, information that explains the strange, intrusive memories that have begun to surface in their minds. Is Elis telling the truth? Can Proxy Steel be trusted? Can the team save the solar system before a parasitic personality devours them from within? Listen to find out!
