Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in remembrance of the Nintendo Wii, a console that will live in the hearts of families and casual gamers for years to come. Join the Rag-NERD-rok Crew as we reminisce about the good points and the bad about gaming on the Wii, from the fun-as-hell party games to the piles of useless plastic Wii-mote attachments we’ve collected over the years. Then, we turn our eyes to the future: the Wii-U. What does Nintendo have in store for the next generation of console gaming, and how will it measure up? We’ll give you our opinions on the new system, along with our predictions and recommendations. Later, Erik has a brand-new, original sketch for us — or, at least, something he blatantly ripped off from Ed. Give it a listen!
(Show notes after the break.)
I. Cold Open – The Recap (00:00:00)
In case you’ve missed a few episodes, here’s a brief recap of what’s happened on the show so far. This season’s going to be intense!
II. The Wii-Ulogy (00:02:30)
Join us for a trip down memory lane as we discuss the highs and the lows of gaming on the Wii. Then, we take a look at Nintendo’s new offering, the Wii-U. Is this newfangled contraption all it’s cracked up to be, or is it just a way to turn your HDTV into an overgrown DS? We’ll cover all this, and more!
Goodnight, sweet console! And the waggling of peripherals sing thee to thy rest!
III. ERIKSKETCH! (00:48:30)
Some sketches were not meant for the ears of mortal men. And other sketches are outright copies of those sketches.
This sketch falls into the latter category.
IV. Outro (00:52:00)
Thanks again for listening to our 30th episode! As usual, if you want to share your thoughts on the Wii, the Wii-U, or horrifying battles between incorporeal voices from other planes of existence, feel free to Like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, email us, or comment below. Be sure to check us out on iTunes as well! If you leave us a 5-star review, we’ll read it on the air!
That’ll make everybody feel special!
