Happy Halloween Everybody!

And for something completely unrelated to this pointless holiday, I have a music video to show you! I realize that the two previous post have also been music videos but I’m guaranteeing that my music video is better than both of theirs. Because mine is neither pony-related nor horrifying. Plus it features David Tennant, who I’m not ashamed to say I have a man-crush on. So check out the video after the break.

As anypony who knows me should know by this point (as should most listeners, given my tendency to mention it here and there), I’m a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. As such, I like to contribute to the fanbase, even though some of my friends (At least two of my RNR partners included) hate me for doing so. I just recently finished up a Pony Music Video (PMV) that I put a fair amount of work in, and I figured, “Hey, we’re a nerd culture podcast, and my obsession with this show is pretty nerdy!” That being said, check out my PMV of Green Day’s “Last of the American Girls,” titled “Last of the Equestrian Girls,” after the jump.

In the most recent episode of Role-playing Public Radio, Ross and Tom, the hosts, plugged a new animated music video that they called “Lovecraftian” and “disturbing.” Now, I don’t know how those words strike you, but the combination of the two intrigues me because it signals an interpretation of Lovecraft done right. I clicked the link in their show notes, and let me tell you, I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. If you’ve ever read any of Mr. Lovecraft’s work, you’ll instantly recognize the gut-wrenching and terrifying imagery as the fully-realized forms at which he only hints in his prose. Those of you who don’t dig on H.P. might be a little lost — and even a bit disgusted — but trust me: this is cosmic horror at its essence. And the song’s pretty sweet, too!

The music video showcases a song called “Fantasy,” by electronica artist DyE. The animation was directed by Jérémie Périn.

NOTE: This video is, in no uncertain terms, NOT SAFE FOR WORK. If you have children, get them far, far away from your computer before you play this.

(Video after the break; enter at your own risk.)

I don’t know about you folks, but I’m still coming down from my post-NYCC high. And going over it all again for the last episode certainly didn’t help things.

Luckily, I found this short video to take my mind off of not being in the Javits Center anymore. What happens when you combine Minecraft and Battlefield 3? Find out after the jump.
