For the past year, the surviving members of the Fear Force Five have been hiding out in the desert backwater of Bulbous Quarry, amassing resources and plotting revenge. Now that two of the villains have freed themselves from their demonic shackles, the group’s time seems to have come round at last. Porter, the demon who outed them to the police, has taken possession of its next host, an undetermined member of their fallen friend Bruce’s family. In the aftermath of their battle with an honest-to-goodness angel, some members of the Phantom Force are starting to have second thoughts about supervillainy. Can the Bulbous Quarry Hellbinders set aside their moral misgivings in order to avenge themselves on Porter, the demon who ruined their lives, or will they be too busy fighting one another?  Continue reading »

They still need one remaining component, the feather of an angel, to complete their Porter tracking device, but just how low will they sink to obtain it? When the team learns that two heroes who’re playing host to true blue angels are going to be awarded the key to Bulbous Quarry, they decide to set up the snatch-and-grab operation of their careers. However, some of the Hellbinders are beginning to question their continued relationships with demons, while others recklessly skirt damnation, even as their choices nudge them ever closer to some moral event horizon. Can they lure an angel into an ambush and escape with their lives, souls and the intended prize, or will they feel the left-hook of Old Testament retribution?

Phantom Fist’s past comes back to haunt him in a big way in this week’s session of Alex’s Apex City Bulbous Quarry campaign! First, we revisit Blake O’Henry’s big score one last time to learn the fates of his former teammates. Twenty years ago, Blake survived the slaughter at Groutweasel Tower and fled the supervillain game, but not all of his team members were quite as lucky. In the present day, Ana Telonis, better known as Battery Acid, has escaped from a maximum-security prison, and Blake figures she’s out for revenge.  The Phantom Fist needs protection and the team needs a demonic totem to complete their Porter-tracking device, so taking down a vengeful Hellbinder seems like killing two birds with one death trap. However, when Blake’s feelings for Ana flare up just before their confrontation, it could spoil all the group’s carefully laid plans.
