For the Sentinels of The Invisible Word, an “informal” Firewall server dedicated to tracking and combating epistemological threats, nothing poses a greater danger to the continued existence of the species than the limits of transhuman knowledge. Without the approval of the rest of The Org, they have taken it upon themselves to untie the knotty philosophical questions puzzling transhumans. Is the post-Fall world nothing but an elaborate simulation under the TITANs’ control? In order to test the limits of reality itself, they’ll have to track down a rare petal called Delphinium One, a shared hallucinatory experience created by a rogue AGI hacker. Getting their hands on the petal may be easier said than done, however, as the only one on Mars has currently been promised to socialite and scion of Elysium Vincenza Oaxaca-Maartens. Can these philosophical agents of Firewall acquire the petal and prove once and for all whether or not the entirety of existence is an elaborate sham? Listen to find out!
After nineteen episodes of nail-biting, slumber-partying goodness, the Stray Thoughts campaign comes to an end! With Proxy Steel’s alien-corrupting virus defeated, the gang must decide what is to be done with the errant superintelligence and his pawns. With Sparkle’s help, they farcast back to the system to a ship poised to raid Steel’s asteroid base. Will Steel go quietly? Will the alien AI be true to its word? What does fate have in store for the Stray Thoughts team? Listen in to the final episode of the campaign to find out, and be sure to tell us what you thought in the comments!
Now that the Sentinels have wrapped up their personal business, it’s time to face the possible ex-threat that is rapidly approaching the solar system. Charles Maldonado’s transmission at the end of The Promethean Chronicles was meant to summon the errant TITANs home, and now it looks like something may have answered. A massive unidentified object on course to enter the system has been sending transmissions demanding to speak to Maldonado, but is it a rogue seed AI coming back to complete transhumanity’s destruction, an extraterrestrial race trying to make contact, or something else entirely? With Maldonado’s reconstructed ego in tow, the Stray Thoughts team farcasts into the black to intercept the object and learn the truth. Will this ragtag group of misfits have to manage a first contact scenario, or will they have their minds devoured by an unknowable evil from the stars? Find out, in Part I of the two-part series finale of Stray Thoughts!
We’re back with more Stray Thoughts! Before they transmit themselves to the terrifying alien vessel hurtling toward the solar system, the former Sentinels of the Stray Thoughts team decide to stop off at 3lizab3thtown, a purely virtual colony established as a safe haven by and for 3lizab3th’s forks. At first, all seems to be well; the other 3lizab3ths are eager to meet our instance’s friends and learn about her adventures. However, it soon becomes clear that years of persecution have made the AIs inhabiting 3lizab3thtown deeply mistrustful of organic transhuman life, and that one of their number has taken steps to eliminate the problem once and for all. With time running out, the team will have to escape from a partitioned hellscape where dissenting 3lizab3ths have been imprisoned and stop the colony’s new leader before she eradicates transhuman civilization at a stroke. Join us for an action-packed Eclipse Phase family reunion, this week on Rag-NERD-rok!
We’re back with the epic conclusion to Gotterdamien! Stray Thoughts team member Damien Carmello is set to face off against his fork, Damien Gorello, in a no-holds-barred deathmatch for control of Legba. In order to further stack the odds in C’s favor, Stardust issues her own challenge, making the fight a three-way battle. The only snag about this arrangement is that, by the rules of the combat, only one person can walk out of the ring alive. With the rest of the team serving as support, Damien and Stardust enter the arena, but can they defeat G’s combat-maximized neo-porcine? And even if they do, which one of them will claim final ownership of the slaver’s sanctuary? Find out, this week on Stray Thoughts!
