In the wake of Porter’s abortive Hell-dragging, the members of the Fear Force Five find their lives in ruins. Now that the public knows their civilian identities, they can no longer operate within Apex City, so the League of Supervillains offers them a chance to start over in a new locale. The team is sent to the desert metropolis of Bulbous Quarry, where they are given new lives and assigned to work under the supervision of a once-great villain who’s looking to get back in the game. Far from home, the Triple-F must once again start from scratch with new villainous personas and gimmicks. Can they use this exile as an opportunity to reclaim their former glory, or is it merely a kind of living hell? Will they be able to stay on the League’s good side after all the trouble they caused? And what about Porter, the demon whose talisman the surviving members have vowed to destroy? Find out, this week in our Better Angels campaign!

Following the near-disaster of their bank heist, The Fear Force Five head back to their new hideout in the abandoned warehouse to count their loot and regroup. What they don’t realize is that Porter, the demon fueling The Sparkler’s powers, has assumed control of his host, and intends to drag his poor, mewling mortal bodily to the hot place. Now, Porter has just twenty-four hours to run roughshod over The Sparkler’s life, destroying the things he loves the most. His family is in danger, as are his trainer, his crush, and even his cat, Sylvester. What none of them could anticipate is that the Fear Force Five itself is also on the list, which means that Porter is obligated to bring ruin down on their heads. Can Apex City’s most feared team of supervillains save one of their own from an eternity in perdition–and, more importantly, after Porter finishes his work, will they even want to? Listen to find out!

NOTE: The Dreadful Secrets of Candlewick Manor is still on indefinite hiatus, but we had Chris back for a few weeks, so we decided to get a session in while we could. We hope this game will tide you over in the weeks to come, and we look forward to returning to the story of our beloved creepy orphans as soon as possible.

In this week’s episode, Cecil receives punishment for the demerits that his residents earned him in the last game. Dr. Davenfirth [sic] arranges for him to become the first member of the Candlewick Young Entrepreneurs’ Club, a new organization dedicated to selling leather-bound encyclopedias. When Enoch, Jareth and Dotty get involved, they do their best to help Cecil unload the hefty volumes on unsuspecting Candlewick servants. Meanwhile, Duncan explores the new relationship he’s discovered with Pricilla Petty. Can Cecil, Dotty, Enoch and Jareth sell five complete sets of Rutlidge Encyclopedias? Will Pricilla set down the enormous chip on her shoulder and embrace Duncan as a family member? And, most important of all, why does everyone always have to congregate in the bathroom while Karl is trying to go? Listen in to find out!

The Triple-F once again takes to the streets of Apex City to commit dastardly deeds, fearsome felonies—et cetera, et cetera. In this week’s episode, they attempt to pull their first ever bank heist in order to pay their dues to Dr. Monstrosity, but despite their “careful planning,” unforeseen elements steer the job towards certain disaster. The bank vault isn’t nearly as intruder-friendly as they would have assumed, leaving the insubstantial Howlicide to stumble around in the dark while the rest of the gang makes a scene. In addition, it seems that a state-sponsored superhero has been monitoring the group and targeted the bank as a prime location to interfere with their plans, a hero collaborating with one of the Triple-F’s former allies, Schadenfreude. Can the Fear Force Five defeat the meddling do-gooders, collect the cash, and restore their image as the premier villain squad of Apex City? And what of the lingering promises that some of the Hellbinders have made to their demons, but never fulfilled? Listen in to find out!

The dastardly villains of Apex City are back! What will their next caper be? Will they finally confront The Muni Men, the mayor’s new “superhero task force?” Will they pull off another daring robbery or take another beloved city landmark hostage? Will they be forced to face the consequence of their demonic misdeeds when Schadenfreude comes back, seeking revenge?

Nope! It’s actually none of those things.

Turns out, there’s already a group of supervillains operating in town, a national franchise operation that newbie evildoers must either buy into or add to their list of enemies. When Dr. Monstrosity’s robotic butler teleports The Fear Force Five to its master’s floating fortress high above Apex City, our Hellbinder heroes will have to choose whether or not they want to join. Disagreements about the terms of the contract cause demonic tempers to flare, and the Triple-F finds itself in an existential crisis. Can the Hellbinders keep their powers—and their demons—in check before they obliterate each other in a pointless stand-off? Listen to find out!
