Rag-NERD-rok Cold Open SUPERCUT!

Here you go, Rag-NERD-rok fans! Have half an hour of our beloved improv comedy segments, on me! For your listening pleasure, here are all of the cold openers we’ve done since the podcast’s inception, compiled together in one file. Some of the early segments are a bit rough around the edges, but I think they’re all pretty hilarious.

Hope you enjoy!

Woo whee. That apocalypse sure was something, wasn’t it? Remember all of the explosions and death? We didn’t want to take any chances, so all of the Rag-NERD-rok guys hunkered down in the Rag-NERD-bunker to await our eventual demise. We figured that, while we were down there, we might as well record a podcast episode. And what better way to ring in the end of the world than by talking about our favorite things that we all discovered in 2012? After that, we decided to spend some time talking about the things we were going to miss in 2013 because the world had ended. There’s also a Will Interview, because we wanted to end our time on this planet with a smile.

This episode was recorded in our bunker on Dec. 21 and posted automatically. Hopefully we’re all alive in the future, in which case most of this is superfluous. If not, it’s been nice knowing you, Planet Earth.

On Oct. 13 to 16, The Rag-NERD-rok crew attended New York Comic Con, the convention where dreams and nightmares come true in equal measure. In this episode, we’ll give you the rundown of our experiences at the con, including tales of how we met the stars (and were shot down), the panels we attended, and the unimaginably long lines we waited on. Later, we’ll give our reviews of this year’s NYCC, and Erik presents a segment of interviews he conducted with cosplayers at the Javits Center. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and pack your own food, because Comic Con is happening again on this week’s episode of Rag-NERD-rok!

When a beloved series is laid to rest by its creators, never again to offer us the thrill and joy of new installments, its fans are often overcome with grief. Whether the series in question spanned a decade or only a few short seasons, they feel as if there wasn’t enough time to truly relish what it had to offer. Mourning these losses can be difficult and draining, for even as fans remember the good times they had watching, reading, or listening, they must acknowledge that the story has come to an end if they are truly to move on. In this very special episode of Rag-NERD-rok, Alex, Ryan, Ed, Meyer and Erik take a fond look back at some of their favorite series that have “passed beyond the veil,” so to speak, and pay them tribute in stirring eulogy. After this nerdly memorial service, Alex gives us a review of “The Rocketeer Adventures,” and Ed introduces the first episode of his new audio drama, “Dead of Winter.”
