Woo whee. That apocalypse sure was something, wasn’t it? Remember all of the explosions and death? We didn’t want to take any chances, so all of the Rag-NERD-rok guys hunkered down in the Rag-NERD-bunker to await our eventual demise. We figured that, while we were down there, we might as well record a podcast episode. And what better way to ring in the end of the world than by talking about our favorite things that we all discovered in 2012? After that, we decided to spend some time talking about the things we were going to miss in 2013 because the world had ended. There’s also a Will Interview, because we wanted to end our time on this planet with a smile.

This episode was recorded in our bunker on Dec. 21 and posted automatically. Hopefully we’re all alive in the future, in which case most of this is superfluous. If not, it’s been nice knowing you, Planet Earth.

In this game, we take on the roles of our enemies in The Prometheus Syndicate. Our goal is to capture and secure a specially-designed farcaster located in the long-abandoned Zrbny mining facility in the asteroid belt. During The Fall, Zrbny shut down for eight days, only to mysteriously come back online with no mention of the interruption of service. Since then, no one has set foot on the asteroid where it is located, and Ash, the station’s public relations AGI, warns off any ships that approach too closely. Those who fail to heed the warning quickly learn just how heavily armed the facility’s defense system is. Moreover, the station has run completely on automation for the past ten years, a fact that has led the wary locals to refer to the place as Zombieland. Can a scum machinist, a demolitions expert and a bitter AGI construct infiltrate Zombieland and wrest control from Ash, or will they join the ranks of the foolhardy adventure seekers who thought they could beat the odds? Listen to find out!

Elis must keep a devastating virus from wreaking havoc on the mesh when a vengeful AGI tries to wipe out the company that created it. Gavin delves deeper into the dangerous underworld of the Martian drug trade, forging an alliance between The Night Cartel in Valles New Shanghai and an upstart manufacturer in order to keep the peace in Elysium. Dalton locates his mark, but devises a dangerous gambit in order to free himself from his bounty once and for all. Damien shows just how despicably far he’ll go in order to take revenge on an escaped slave who dares to blackmail him. And finally, Lucas completes his mission for Direct Action with a typically precise application of deadly force. This week’s Actual Play is a hair-raising, character-driven game of Eclipse Phase, so don’t miss it!

In this episode of Godfire, the team from Firewall is stranded on Mars in the aftermath of their incredible fuck-up at Tether, and in their newly-found free time, each Sentinel goes on a personal mission. Gavin receives a message from a notorious drug dealer and former associate of his who needs a favor, and is willing to give him the doctor who sold Dalton to the Night Cartel if he does it. After his encounter with Gray Xu in Olympus, Dalton must deal with his rising profile as the space mafia’s higher-ups grow ever more eager to capture him. Doc Skeelaxx is contacted by a former Gatecrasher who has brought back an illegal specimen through one of the Pandora Gates, and wishes to have it examined by a professional with dubious morals. Lucas must hunt down and neutralize a Direct Action weapons designer who plans to defect to Gorgon with the blueprints of his latest invention. Elis faces her toughest hacking challenge yet when an anarchist cell brings a disembodied AI construct to her and asks her to jailbreak a robotic body in which to sleeve it. Damien finds his past misdeeds come back to haunt him when a man who he fork-napped and sold into slavery tries to blackmail him so that he can get his old life back. Finally, Amir, the only Sentinel to survive the nuclear explosion on Tether (because he wasn’t there), has to take the train from Olympus to Elysium–what could possibly go wrong?

In this week’s Eclipse Phase game, the team of Firewall Sentinels faces off with an agent from The Prometheus Syndicate in a tooth-and-nail battle to stop the plot to destroy the Martian space elevator! But first, they’ll have to thwart massive amounts of OIA security, gain access to restricted areas on Tether, the asteroid serving as the space elevator’s counterweight, and figure out a way to deal with a TITAN-designed pocket nuclear device. Can they save Mars from untold destruction, or will all their efforts thus far be in vain? Find out in the final episode of Godfire!
