It’s time for another Free RPG Day scenario, this one from Pelgrane Press! When an army of skeletons suddenly besieges a quiet inn in a seaside town, a group of adventurers step in to fight back! Kilala is a skilled tactician and a brave Human Commander, the only one in her class at the military academy to pass her final exam without raising her voice. Rogar the Dwarf Wizard and his feisty raccoon familiar, Diggs, have been exiled from every single dwarven settlement in the Dragon Empire. Grithok III, a Half-Orc Rogue, has been unwillingly conscripted into service on pirate and merchant crews in every port along the Midland Sea. Finally, two returning characters, crazed Halfling Sorcerer Pizzdipple the Buoyant and Dark Elf Paladin Seldar Kle’Dur’gen, reunite for a new adventure. Can they discover the source of the necromantic outbreak and put it to rest? Will Seldar give in to his drowish impulses and murder the halfling who pushed him into the maw of the great Stone Thief? This week, the gang tackles Chaosium’s Free RPG Day scenario “The Derelict,” written by Call of Cthulhu designer Sandy Petersen! Titus Burnhardt, a “tech maverick” who also goes by his brogrammer handle “T-Burn,” is a washed-up app developer who’s selling his yacht The Delilah in order to raise enough capital to launch his next big project. The buyer happens to be in Liverpool, which affords T-Burn one last opportunity to throw a kickass boat party during the transatlantic crossing! Titus invites his lawyer, Georgie Berkovich (of Berkovich & Berkovich), a milquetoast hanger-on who enjoys his professional proximity to the wealthy and famous, as well as Peter “Murph” Murphy, a childhood friend who currently serves as his personal bodyguard. The voyage proceeds according to plan until the travelers spot a looming hulk stranded on an iceberg in the North Atlantic, a refrigerated container ship that appears to be abandoned. Driven to investigate by the possibility of a huge salvage claim, the passengers explore the foreboding vessel in order to learn the fate of its crew, and, if possible, tow the derelict to shore. What they find, however, is a creature out of Viking legend, a terrifying Sciapod that wants to hunt them like animals. Can they survive?

They will travel from the motherfuckin’ Crab City all the way to the shores of Connecti-CUT to do the motherfuckin’ Crab Goddess’s bidding. And they’ll fuckin’ deal with motherfuckin’ lobsters, bandits and more along the way.

In order to retrieve Strapper’s seed from The Godfather, the cosa nostra persona of the man who runs Hollywoodland, the Stray Thoughts team will need careful planning, good tactics, and no small amount of luck. Unfortunately for them, Santiago’s creche-mate Contagion is also at large, and his Watts-McLeod infection has progressed into its next terrifying phase. When Damien and Esmeralda attempt to use the rogue Lost async as part of the plan to cause a distraction, things go disastrously wrong, and 3lizab3th decides to call in a bomb threat to keep station security busy. Now, the ex-Sentinels will have to push forward with their heist plans with the entire theme park in a panic and a frightening psionic monstrosity on their tails. Can they steal Strapper’s seed and escape Hollywoodland alive?

This week, the Stray Thoughts team heads to Hollywoodland, a high-priced amusement park in Lunar orbit where nostalgic hyperelites can meet and solicit sex from dead celebrities. Strapper’s former contact, a Firewall operative known as Omen, is using the park as cover, and is currently sleeved into an Elvis Presley legacy morph somewhere inside. She was the last person to have possession of Strapper’s seed, the amputated parts of his code that could turn him into a recursively self-improving AI if re-integrated with his current instance. Can the ex-Sentinels locate Omen in a tourist trap for the undying rich? Listen to find out!
